Is it possible to create an animation of the dynamic excitation during earthquake duration? sampling interval of time-acc is 0.01 sec,, duration of the motion is 45 sec, so i selected the max steps as 4500 and substep as 1 to create an detailed animation that shows the every step. But when i try to create animation for just dynamic case, the last step appears in selecting box? what am i missing?
Dear Sinan,
Please check here on how to increase the number of max steps stored per phase: https://communities.bentley.com/products/geotech-analysis/w/plaxis-soilvision-wiki/45910/how-to-setup-the-number-of-steps-stored-in-plaxis-input
Note that in dynamic analysis we can store the steps and not the substeps, so keeping the substeps to 1, will give you the chance to save all the 4500 steps, which is quite some data.
So to help you with that, please check this, too: communities.bentley.com/.../change-temporary-folder-for-intermediate-calculation-data-files
Dear Stefanos,
First of all thanks for your detailed clarification, but i did all the things what the documents, which you attached, emphasize. When i select "create animation" , the screen occurs as following:
does it mean, for the dynamic stages, only last step available for animating? do i miss sth. ?
Thanks in advance.
If you have specified the Max number of steps stored larger than 1 you would see those steps in the Create animation window, too.
Please check for which phases you have specified in this field as I can confirm that this works as intended. Note that needless to say this is required before you start the calculation.
