Hi all,
When doing an axisymmetric excavation, please how to provide water table (assume initial water table at the top surface? (for this project need to check the full water condition on the retained side so can't use steady flow for water table).
I asked this question because when i provide 2 separate water levels and did analysis the meeting point of these 2 produces tension points because change in the active pore pressure as shown below.
<= This is how i provided 2 water levels and excavation step
Thanks.
Dear Nitha,
I think you can check the on-demand video about the common pitfalls on performing dewatering analyses: https://learn.bentley.com/app/VideoPlayer/LinkToIndividualCourse?LearningPathID=113626&CourseId=129954&MediaID=5019074

Dear Mr. Stefanos,
Thanks, will check
The mention video about the de-watering which the retaining system has the embedment depth. We can define another water level and assign to excavated side (I'm normally doing like that when doing excavation with embedment depth as shown below).
But the case I was asking above is the shaft excavation which don't have embedment depth. Need to excavate and cast the circular section.
So i need to how to make dewatering for this (as mentioned above when following this second water level idea there was error as there is no embedment depth and failure occured in the transition zone).
Please help.
Dear Mr. Stefanos Papavasileiou
Any reply please if you are free.
Dear Mr. Micha van der Sloot
Can you help this one also, please?
