Hi all,
When doing an axisymmetric excavation, please how to provide water table (assume initial water table at the top surface? (for this project need to check the full water condition on the retained side so can't use steady flow for water table).
I asked this question because when i provide 2 separate water levels and did analysis the meeting point of these 2 produces tension points because change in the active pore pressure as shown below.

Hi
You should consider what happens with the water and pore pressures around your shaft. Only changing the pore pressures in one area without changing areas that are directly connected, is not realistic and will lead to local out-of-balance. Either performing a groundwater flow analysis or adjusting the pore pressures to be more realistic in the adjacent soil volumes would solve this.A webinar with details is here:learn.bentley.com/.../LinkToIndividualCourse
