I am doing an axisymmetric 2D analysis using Plaxis's Flow Only option to calculate total discharge at the bottom of a 42 feet circular shaft. But Plaxis is giving me the following error:
Errod Code: Ultimate state not reached in groundwater flow analysis. [Error code: 34]
I have already checked the groundwater flow boundary condition and the soil parameters to make sure everything is correct. The model fails at the initial phase, giving the error code above.
Out of curiosity, I checked the model using 2D Plain Strain analysis and it is working fine, but plain strain is not applicable in this case. I would appreciate your help resolving this issue.
The concrete shaft is modeled using plate element.

From the description and the screenshot, it is difficult to identify the reason for this error. Typically this can be related to input and phase settings, e.g. material parameters such as permeabilities.
