Hello,
I am running a dynamic phase, earthquake by a time history applied by means of prescribed displacement to the bottom boundary. The dynamic phase is followed by a plastic phase, I need the dynamic phase deformations to have an effect on the plastic phase . So. I will use the pseudo static option in the model conditions at the plastic phase.
So I was asking how to calculate the global acceleration in every direction (x, y &z)
Sincerely,
Ahmed Abd Elshakour
The global pseudo static acceleration scalars are input values, meaning PLAXIS does not calculate the value. You would need to specify a pseudo static acceleration prior to calculation. There are a variety of codes and papers that cover this subject unique to country region and guidelines, ultimately the engineer should assume responsibility.
Using PLAXIS 2D, only pseudo accelerations in the x and y direction are allowed because a third dimensional acceleration would violate either the planestrain or axisymmetric boundary formulation.
Using PLAXIS 3D x y and z should be covered.
