Problem description
In PLAXIS 2D2010, it is only possible to use Latin characters for naming projects. Also it is necessary to save projects in paths with just Latin characters, otherwise it is not possible to successfully define stage construction phases.
Non-latin characters include amongst others: Arabic, Chinese, Greek and Japanese.
This problem can become visible when:
- you try to calculate a phase: the phase calculation marker (the arrow) turns from blue into grey.
- you try to define a staged construction phase: the program may respond with a bug report.
Solution
In 2D 2010, please do not use non-Latin characters in your folder names and your Plaxis project names. This also includes the desktop (folder) when the account name includes non-Latin characters.
This has been fixed since PLAXIS 2D 2011.00
