I use PLAXIS and it says I do not have the proper licence

PLAXIS complains I do not have the proper entitlement or license. What should I do now?

When starting PLAXIS you may receive a warning that you do not have the proper licence (or entitlement) to open a PLAXIS model. This could be caused by the fact that the setting for the appropriate licence/entitlement is deactivated or the incorrect licence/entitlement is selected.

When starting PLAXIS 2D or PLAXIS 3D, PLAXIS, by default, shows a window with the activated licences for this session:

Start PLAXIS 2D - Licence information

Depending on the current license configuration you may have to activate other entitlements manually.

Via the Configure licences option, you may change the selected licence/entitlements:

Start PLAXIS 2D - Configure Licences

You can choose not to see this startup window (Figure 1) with the activated and deactivated licences anymore when the option to Show on Startup is disabled.

To access the licence configuration, start a new project in PLAXIS Input, and go to the Help menu. Here choose the option Licence configuration...
Alternatively, search for Licence configuration in the Windows Start. Note that any change will be applied after restarting PLAXIS Input.

To allow for the licence window to appear again at startup, please activate the option via the following menu item in PLAXIS Input:
Options > Licence information > Show on startup

Note that the PLAXIS CONNECT Edition V20 licence configuration window shows the following options:
