SOILVISION CONNECT Edition V10 Release Notes

    Release: September 2019

SOILVISION CONNECT Edition V10 (10.00.00.13) contains the following improvements and updates compared to SVOFFICE v5.4.08:

    New and improved features

    • Subscription Entitlement Service (SES) Licensing
      • The new SOILVISION releases use the same licensing system as the rest of the applications in your Bentley Playbook.
      • SES Licensing provides a unique ID throughout all Bentley applications, removing the need for dongle keys and manual license version management.
      • Migration of licensing from Hardware Lock licensing to a flexible virtual licensing management system
      • Additionally, access personal learning material, paths and history, timely product related news, automatic product updates, and notifications.

      • Learn more about the new SOILVISION licenses and transitioning to SES in the SOILVISION Wiki section of Bentley Communities.

    • SVDESIGNER - gINT/Generic Borehole Geometry Import
      • Import lithology data from a gINT database or from CSV files to build 3D surfaces and volumes

    • SVSLOPE - 3D Probability Analysis and 3D Sensitivity Analysis
      • Probability: Perform probabilistic analysis to report outputs as a probability of unsatisfactory performance or a reliability index
      • Sensitivity: Vary soil properties in 3D analyses

    • SVSLOPE - Automatic critical sliding direction determination
      • An addition to Orientation Analysis, this capability automatically finds the orientation of the critical sliding mass, reducing modeling time

    • SVSLOPE - Hybrid Ellipsoid
      • Allows further control of the ellipsoidal shape of slip surfaces and thus improved FOS results

    • SVSLOPE - Addition of advanced seismic methods
      • Spectral Pseudo-Static Loading and Newmark methods

    • SVSOILS - gINT Material Import
      • SVSOILS can now import materials from a standard gINT database

    • SVSOILS - 35,000 soils added to SVSOILS database
      • GIS-referenced soils from across the United States added to SVSOILS
      • Soils sourced from the Zapata (ASU) database

    Other Improvements:

    • New hull alpha mesh generation option for surface generation in SVDESIGNER
    • DXF export options have been upgraded to support recent releases of AutoCAD
    • SVDESIGNER Apply Merge Distance reliability improvements
    • Sticky Points option is no longer applied to hidden objects in SVDESIGNER
    • Pinchout detection precision improvements
    • 3D contour dialog improvements
    • Added support for Block Search, Non-strength Material, Undrained Strength Ratio Material, and other improvements for importing SLIDE models
    • Option added to SVSLOPE to consider how pore-water pressure is interpreted above the piezometric level or water table when using the B-bar method
    • Added display of B-bar, Ru-coefficient, Piezometric lines, and water surface information in the material legend
    • Added more options to control appearance of Piezometers in SVDESIGNER
    • Tension cracks now supported when creating a 2D model from a 3D model
    • Labels can be displayed for piezometer objects in SVDESIGNER
    • Option added to SVFLUX to constraint flow boundary conditions applied to a Well based on a minimum head limit
    • and more

    Fixed issues

    • Artwork drawn over top of regions in 2D was not editable
    • Corrected some specific cases when a Non-Strength material was used and there were multiple layers of non-strength materials or seismic loading was applied in SVSLOPE
    • Cross section display issues when using a Win7 operating system
    • Corrected miscellaneous mesh generation issues in SVDESIGNER
    • 3D Tension Crack improvements were not enabled for users with SVOffice v5.4.08
    • 3D Range Plots were not properly displaying plot distances when the Plot is not horizontal or vertical in SVFLUX
    • Maximum Suction option for the Water Table initial conditions option was not working correctly in SVFLUX
    • Exceptions occurred in SVDESIGNER in slicing when a partial grid doesn't reach a region
