When applying a material with anisotropic permeability in PLAXIS 3D 2011.0’s groundwaterflow calculations, the results are not correct: in a part of the groundwaterflow calculation equation the permeability component for the y-direction (ky) was also used for the z-direction.
Since this is only done in a part of the groundwaterflow calculations, there is no workaround available when using anisotropic permeability.
Groundwaterflow calculations for isotropic materials (kx= ky = kz ) are correct.
Note: this does not apply to a consolidation analysis: here the permeability components in x-, y- and z-direction are taken correctly into account.
This is fixed since PLAXIS 3D 2011.01
