Problem description
Currently, users can easily create and simulate a laboratory test to enhance the chosen soil material parameters in PLAXIS, see also this demonstration.
Plaxis developed additional tools to make this process even easier by adding facilities to actually load real soil laboratory test data, after which the SoilTest program should find the most appropriate parameters to match these test results via an inverse analysis. This feature is released in PLAXIS 2D 2012.
In PLAXIS 2D 2011.02, users may find access to this function, but this functionality was not ready yet, and it did not work.
Solution
With the release of PLAXIS 2D 2012.00, the functionality is now available to be used!
