When using the command line to change the material assignment will give a warning when this material dataset was already assigned:

Since the correct material dataset was already assigned to the user feature (e.g. a plate, volume, beam), the staged construction setting is correct, despite this error message. To verify this, please select this item and check the material assignment in the selection explorer.
Note that when receiving this message during execution of a list of commands in the Commands Runner, the list of commands will halt on this failed command. When removing this failed command from the commands runner, the commands runner will continue.
This issue is now solved for PLAXIS 3D AE.00
