Problem description

When modelling a tunnel segment and assigning a line load or prescribed line displacement to it, the distribution type Linear does not set the correct values for the load or prescribed displacement for the section.

When defining another type of distribution for a tunnel segment’s line load / prescribed line displacement, all values are set correctly: Uniform, Perpendicular, Perpendicular vertical increment.
For a normally defined line (so NOT via the tunnel designer), all distribution types work correctly, including the option Linear.

Solution

This issue is now solved since PLAXIS 2D 2015.00.

In PLAXIS 2D AE it is not possible to use this functionality directly in the tunnel designer. When a straight line in the tunnel designer is defined on which this linearly distributed line load or prescribed line displacement should be applied, a separate line with the line load or prescribed line displacement (defined in Structures mode directly) could be used to model this.
