Problem description

Using PLAXIS 2D AE.00 or PLAXIS 2D AE.01 in a maximized window on a high resolution screen, it can happen that the 2D model view (drawing area) is suddenly hidden.
This might happen for example for these resolutions:

• 1920 x 1200
• 2560 x 1440

This is a specific problem for 2D AE.00 and 2D AE.01 Input due to the way the software renders the 2D visualization.

Solution

This issue is now solved in PLAXIS 2D AE.02

When using PLAXIS 2D AE.00/2D AE.01 , you can still use Plaxis with a visualized model in Plaxis Input:

• when lowering the screen resolution
• or, when not working in full screen mode
• or, when changing the size of the command line (height) and Model Explorer (width) to reduce the size of the drawing area.

However, after restarting the application or after minimizing the window, the original sizes are reset, making the latter option not very practical.
