Problem description

It is possible to specify a time interval for a Gravity loading phase in the Phases window. Now when then this phase is switched back to the K0 procedure it is no longer possible to enter a time interval, suggesting (correctly) that time is not relevant for a K0 procedure phase.

Unfortunately however in PLAXIS 2D AE internally still the specified time interval is stored for the K0 procedure phase. This time interval from the K0 procedure phase now causes problems later on in a dynamic phase during staged construction since the calculation kernel will now use a wrong dynamic time interval equal to user specified time interval + K0 time interval. This behaviour will in general lead to wrong and/or unexpected dynamic results.

Solution

This issue is now solved since PLAXIS 2D 2015.00

In PLAXIS 2D AE, either make use of the Gravity loading or alternatively make sure the time interval is zero before switching the initial phase to the K0 procedure.
