Problem description

In PLAXIS Input and PLAXIS Output you can access the Command reference under the Help menu. In order to query information on a command or an object, a search field is provided at the top-right side of the window.

In the PLAXIS 2D 2018.00 version, the search field is giving an error saying:
Couldn’t load index for ‘Input commands reference’ located at ‘../input_commands’

Error message in the browser

The results of the search are shown only if you press OK on this popup error window.

The error appears due to a typo in the import command for the Input program and a JavaScript file that is provided in the Plaxis installation.

Solution

This issue is resolved in PLAXIS 2D 2018.01.

If you encounter this problem, the following steps need to be taken to fix the problem :

  1. Download the compressed file provided at the bottom of the current page [fix_issue_search_command_reference.7z], which includes two files:
    - commands_import.html
    - wordsindex.js
  2. Go to the directory of the Input commands of the manuals, by default it is:
    C:\Program Files\Plaxis\PLAXIS 2D\manuals\english\input_commands
  3. Extract the contents of the downloaded file and replace the files in this directory
  4. Done! You can now safely search without any error message.

The process requires Administrative rights to paste files into the Plaxis folder. In that case, contact you IT department to assist you in resolving this.
