Solution

This issue is now solved in PLAXIS 2D CONNECT Edition V20 Update 1 (V20.01), released January 2020.

A workaround for this issue in PLAXIS 2D CONNECT Edition V20.00 is to create a dummy soil cluster at any side where originally no cluster is defined. Then in the phases, make sure to deactivate this dummy soil cluster.
Users are advised to check the external water loads value in the preview or view of any calculated phase, under Project menu>Water load information.
