General description 

An improved and more versatile format for storing material data set information has been implemented with the release of PLAXIS CONNECT Edition (CE) V22.

The following video shows how you can easily convert your previous material databases to the new PLAXIS V22 database format.

The procedure described in the video to convert a material database from the previous format (.matdb) to the new format (.matXdb) is the following:

1. Make sure both PLAXIS CE V21 and PLAXIS CE V22 are installed.
2. Start PLAXIS CE V21 and create a new project.
3. Copy all the materials from your global material database to the local database.
4. Save the project.
5. Close PLAXIS CE V21.
6. Start PLAXIS CE V22 and open the project that you saved in the steps above.
7. Copy all the materials to the Global Database.

With these simple steps, you can easily convert existing material databases to the new format and start using them in the latest PLAXIS version!
