It addressed new features of gINT v8i SS1 which was released December 9, 2011.

This worked fine for me at the conference, but now that I'm home, I cannot generate the XML file from gINT. Can you tell me what build we were using at the conference? I'm using a patch that was built to correct a bug that prevented me from using our data acquisition setup for labs & CPT.

Thanks!

Judy

"1) Can cross sections be cut in the DGN file?

Answer: Yes. If you need a series of sections along a reference line or alignment, a Bentley civil package such as GEOPAK, InRoads or MXROAD will be required. If you are looking to create a single cross section through a particular section then you can use MicroStation's dynamic section capabilities."

It is also possible to auto generate cross sections along an alignment using gINT Rules, www.datgel.com/DatgelFenceGeneratorTool.aspx. gINT can display the existing ground surface and design surfaces with the post (borehole) data.

"16) When exporting the XML, what happens when the borehole has the same material type listed twice?"

I'm looking forward to a future version that allows me to use a text field containing a geologic unit code, such as the AGS heading GEOL_GEOL, as a basis for layers. I think people commonly want to model an interpreted geological unit.
