Defining new page size

I seem to have lost my A3 page sizes in my new version of gINT, and can't work out how to define a new one.

Can anyone help with this seemingly simple task??

  • The Page sizes are defined in the library you have open. It is not version dependent. The easiest way is to open the files you had before. goto file ...change library and browse to your library file (.glb). You also want to make sure you use the project file(.gpj) designed for the library. There are also many standard libraries that already have A3 page sizes. I suggest trying to find your original one first as it probably has been customized by your company. If you can't find your files let us know and I can contact you directly to help you get setup with files that have metric page sizes.

If you have just installed the new version on the same machine you previously had gINT, you can check the recent file list to help you find you companies library. When you goto file ..change library ..there is a dropdown where you pick the file that will show your recent files. If this is a new machine that never had gINT then this info will not be there.

  • Thanks David. I totally agree with what you're saying, which is why I'm confused. I haven't changed my glb (or gpj for that matter) but I've still lost my A3 page size.

I can't find any guidance on setting up new page sizes, which I think will be the easiest way forward.
  • I've downloaded example gpj and glb files with A3 (fnc_43_gwgn01.zip) for example and there is still no A3 pages.

Under File --> system properties --> page defaults I can only see A4 and letter. How do you add other pages here??
  • Hi Peekee The individual Page sizes are set in the reports. Under report design.. Pick the report .. in the yellow dropdown at the top pick the report. Then go to properties (looks like a hand holding a sheet of paper), under the general tab you will see page size margins etc.. The page sizes list comes from the default printer you have setup on your computer. iwould be happy to contact you privately. Please e-mail me at kirk.johnson@bentley.com with your contact info and I will call you to discuss.

If you have downloaded fnc_43_gwgn01.zip In that library there are two fence reports. One designed in A4 one in A3 When you goto output ..fences..at the top in the yellow drop down you will see two reports to choose from. Assuming you have a printer avaiable to print to A3 you should be able to use that one. On a side note the example libraries for download are skeleton libraries. They are expected to be merged into a standard library that would contain symbols, datamarkers etc..Each file that is downloaded comes with a text file with instructions for use.

  • Hi there, you might want to check that your printer driver hasn't gone pear shaped. Maybe reinstall your default printer. As David said, gINT takes it's page sizes from your installed printer. Also, have you changed printers recently? If the new printer doesn't have A3 capability then you won't see that page size in gINT. I have in the past installed printer drivers manually (rather than plug and play) for people who need to produce bigger reports than they need to print. I generally use something like the HP Designjet 800 which is an A0 printer so you get all the page sizes up to A0. The problem goes away if you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat as the printer driver with that has all the sizes too.
