Different types of log in same fence report

Hi,
im new to gINT and despite reading manual i hadnt been succesfull in finding solution to the following problem. We are using version V8i SS2 in our company and before we used a program which was quite rigid but allowed to create several types of logs in one fence report. What im trying to achieve in one fence output is to be able to show a log borehole with classification, which i was able to do easily, but in the same time also a CPT log. So i need two different fence report design version, one for normal borehole log and the second for CPT log, in the same fence output report. Is there any way to do this lets say depending on an entry in a table field?

Thanks for any hint or answer

  • Hi,

We do have a free fence report. It is available for download. It includes CPT Data graph on the fence. I have attached the example output. If this is what you are looking for it can be downloaded here.

    http://communities.bentley.com/products/geotechnical1/w/wiki/fence-report-examples

it is called “Fence Report with CPT graphs”.

You may need to modify the expressions on the report to match your database structure in order to use it with your current projects. Or you can use the database that gets downloaded with the files set. Make sure to read the text file that gets downloaded for usage instructions.

  • Hi David,

thanks for your reply. I think I know how to show graphs on fence reports as in your example. But what I want to achieve is to be able to lets say show CPT-1 with graphs as in picture and CPT-2 only with the litology comlumn without graphs in the same fence report. Im not sure if I can set some variable in fence report design to show some parts of the report (in this case graphs). I attached a screenshot of our older program which illustrate exaxtly what I need to achieve.

Thanks for any kind of suggestion.

  • Hi,

Yes you can do this by putting output condition on the graph entity on the fence report. For example only show the graph under certain condition. There are many, many ways to implement the output condition of the graph or any other entities on the report. You can group them in blocks and write the output condition on the block or just individual entities. The condition you write can be highly variable as well. You could add a field to your database in the point(borehole ) called show CPT on fence and then only show the graph on points where the field is checked. Or if the data you already enter is the condition then you can just use that . For example you only want the graph to show when you enter cpt Data . The condition could be to look in the Cpt table and if I find data for that point show it .

Since there are so many possibilities you can contact me by e-mail just click on my name here in the forum and send me a private e-mail with your contact info and I would be more than happy to call you and discuss all the options so you can set up the files the way that will work best for you.

Attached is a very quick example of implementing an output condition on a graph. Again there are many options on how to implement this

  • David,

I am interested in this topic, specifically how to display CPT tip and friction ratios as line graphs on a fence diagram also displaying borehole data. I have played around with the report design and not been successful. Additionally, I was unable to find any information in the help manual. Could you please assist me?

    Thanks,
  • Hi Eva,

Did you download the example fence mentioned in the above post? This is basically a fence with plot versus depth entities referencing the cpt data. It is called “Fence Report with CPT graphs”.It should be setup with every thing you need. You may need to modify the plot vs depth entities to reference the fields from your database. If you want click on my name and e-mail me your contact info. I can go though it in more detail.
