Yes, this is fairly easy. Make a new table named geology_unit_1 with a keyset of ItemKey. Then go to the properties of the GEOL_GEOL field and set the Lookup property to Prjtbl!geology_unit_1

Thanks Phil. I had managed this already but I was trying to populate this table with the unique geology codes from a rather large collection of boreholes from a number of different contractors.

If it was me (and I'm a bit odd, I like to do things the longer way round so I don't miss anything wit a too automated system) I'd create a customised import correspondence file that prefixes the BH number with the Job number (so you don't end up with gINT throwing a wobbly at 15 different "BH1s") and then import all your data into a single gINT project (or just the project, Point and Geol tables if you want). I would then create a text table report using a "SELECT DISTINCT" SQL query on the GEOL_GEOL field to extract all the distinct GEOL_GEOL codes used. Then export this to an excel file. Open it in excel, copy the list and paste it into your lookup list in gINT (I presume you would be using a Library Table for the lookup list) The whole process should only take about 5 mins.

If your AGS files correctly follow the guidelines all the GEOL_GEOL codes used in a trnasfer should be listed in the ABBR group.

Open the AGS file in a spreadsheet and ensure Text has been broken into columns using commaas delimiter. Find the codes and copy the cells desired to clipboard.

In gINT open the destination table and paste them directly into the correct column. Contiguous sreadsheet cells can be copied and pasted as a block.

Use the method outlined by Miles. I would advise against using the the raw AGS data as it is possible that there may be additional codes included in the ABBR group that aren't actually used in the data.
