gINT PRINTING

Hello,

I am using gINT v8i SS2.

I have to print a borelog and corelog onto a single 11x17 pdf sheet.  I have the instruction describing the steps, but the step involving moving the corelog to the right side of the drawing page, I can not get to work.  My steps involve creating a drawing (*.gdw) and selecting Move tool once corelog appears on page, then right click on drawing and select Snaps, then enter, left click once with mouse, click on "*" at bottom left of page, in X,Y coordinate box type 7.8,0, enter.  This is supposed to move the corelog to the right side so the borelog can occupy the left side.  However, The move tool and steps involved do not produce a result,  I am missing something.  Can someone comment about what step I am missing or not likely doing correctly?

  • As Kathleen indicated, that would be a nice enhancement. I have wanted something like this for years.
You have a few options that will give you that capability, but they involve a few steps each time you create a combined borelog/corelog sheet. You don't indicate how you currently have your report setup at this point, but if you need to do this on a regular basis this is what I would do.
Setup two Log reports; one borelog and one corelog. Both as 11x17 size sheets.
Place all entities for the borelog report on the left half of the page of the borelog report.
Place all entities for the corelog report on the right half of the page of the corelog report.
If there is an overall border that you want to use you can place this on just one of the reports along with any other "common" entities.
Then, at Output, export the borelog to a gINT Drawing (gdw) file.
Then, while still at Output, switch to the corelog report and export to the "same" GDW file and select the "Merge" option in the dialog that will come up. Using the "Merge" places all the entities on the same page in the GDW file. Open the GDW file in the General Drawings application and then you can print it to a PDF file.

If you don't want to setup two reports, you can use the "Offset Move" command instead of using the Move tool.
You are moving all of the entities to the right, correct? If so, the Offset Move command is simpler.
After selecting the Offset Move command you can either manually select the entities that you want moved or just select the "Select All" option button in the lower portion of the screen. You can "unselect" any entities by holding down the Shift key as you click on any entity that you want unselected. Enter the amount of offset, in the box (7.8,0), and then click the OK button.
All the selected entities should now have been moved 7.8 inches to the right.
At this point, you still need to merge the borelog report onto the left side of the page/drawing.
