Our company is just starting to use the Lab Testing Module and the Lab Testing User Guide isn't very user friendly for a novice gINT Administrator. The lab's procedure is to run sieve analysis with a cumulative weight of coarse and a cumulative weight of fines (splitting the sieve between 4.75mm and 2mm). The lab also zeroes out the scale after putting the pan on so there are no tare weights in the "Wt Sieving Tare Coarse" and "Wt Sieving Tare Fines" columns.
No matter how I go about inputting the data it 1) does not split the sample; 2) does not calculate the fines content of each individual sieve correctly; and 3) over calculates the weight of fines tested.
Hello,
I am currently having the same exact issue (only cumulative lab tests are not outputting to percent gravel / sand) I have reviewed the Lab Testing Tutorial and the Lab Testing User guide). I dont see enough detail on trouble shooting cumulative versus incremental to assist in solving this issue.
Can Tish or Kathleen provide more detail on how this was resolved? Our cumulative results were given to us directly from a lab.
Recheck the lab testing user guide (starts at pg 37 of the pdf) as you may have too much data in your fields. Usually samples are split on the No 10 sieve (2mm). You only have three samples with that condition. You need to change the other samples from 0.075mm to 2mm if they were split samples. If they weren't split samples, delete the values in that field and delete the data in the Wt Fines Tested field.
This is a typical sieve analysis without a split.
