gINT Professional Displaying Soil Colors in Borehole Logs and Defaulting Meters Instead of Feet.

How do I show the soil colors in my borehole logs?

How do I make sure everything stays in meters not feet?

Thank you!

  • Hello Michaela,

gINT library file comes with 32 colors predefined in the Colors library of the Symbol Design Application Group.  Check the Symbol Design>Colors tab to see the standard and the Munsell colors that gINT provides.  Once you have the colors defined that you want to use, you need to assign a lookup to the Colors to a field in your database. In other words, in order to set up soil colors, you will need to associate a lookup property.  In the Lookup property of fields, under the Graphic lookup choices, you can select COLORS which will give you a drop down of the list of Colors that are defined in your library.  Make sure you select the 'Must use lookup property', this way you can only select from this list.  You may want to create a new column ' Color' in the Lithology table and associate this lookup property to this new column.

For more information on this please check the gINT HELP topic - Assigning colors Graphic Column Sections (how-to guide)

    Using Meters Instead Feet:

The US standard library is set to feet and inches.  If you want to use metric measures, you can use templates in Canada library.  gINT standard Canada Lab files, that are designed in metric.
