Hi,
I need to create new legends for Track Bed Investigation Logging for Network Rail. I have a scan of the page from the NR standard (NR/L2/TRK/4239) so can pull a .bmp off if needed if I can't create one from scratch but would need to know how to import the .bmp.
Thanks

Importing .bmp file:
1. go to SYMBOL DESIGN tab (app)
2. click to Bitmap Symbols tab (or Bitmap Fills)
3. File menu -> New
4. In the New dialog box, give a new symbol name, and at the bottom Load Raster File
5. Click OK
The .bmp file should be imported

Hi Kelley,
If you are looking to design your own symbols in gINT, it is possible. Below are links to symbol design tutorial. This is a 4 part series.
gINT accepts bitmaps such as these in SYMBOL DESIGN....Bitmap Fills.
using bitmap fills as a material symbol is possible, but not recommended as there are many drawbacks trying to use them. Once you have loaded them in under symbol design ..bitmap fills. Then bitmap fills can be used in material symbols
Using the vector based images in gINT by designing tiles and material symbols will give you a much better quality and flexibility to resize and scale without clarity degradation.
Lastly, many organizations that use gINT may share their library or symbols for other gINT users. I would reach out to the organization and see if they would have something to share with you.
Hi kelly,
Many years ago we purchased the NR Railway Ballast symbols from Leeke Associates. See http://www.leekeassociates.co.uk/ginttools.htmNote the NR standard has been updated since Leeke created the hatches. They may have an update or you may have to tweak things yourself.
