Hello,
I have a problem with SAMP_ID being exported into the ABBR table. (AGS4 export)
How can I stop this from being included in the ABBR table? Because I don't have anywhere to define a list of SAMP_DESC for each individual SAMP_ID
Plus I have a project with thousands of unique SAMP_IDs, and it's a pointless effort to have a separate description for each SAMP_ID to populate into the ABBR_DESC field.
Other fields like SAMP_TYPE are being correctly exported, and make sense as I would want to define the sample types within the ABBR_DESC (such as SAMPE_TYPE: "C" to be included in ABBR_CODE, with an abbreviation of ABBR_DESC: "core sample")
the problem with this is that it is creating thousands of errors during checking as ABBR_DESC field is required but the value is empty.
I'm happy to provide our correspondence file, library file and database directly to Bentley support, as the project information is confidential and can't be shared publicly.
Joe
Hi Joe
Do you have a lookup set in your project database for field SAMP.SAMP_ID or SAMP_ID field in a child table? I can't imagine another explanation, other than a bug.

Problem fixed itself. I have no idea why it stopped exporting SAMP_ID into the ABBR table. All I changed in the SAMP table was setting the SAMP_TOP field to units of m.
