I'm trying to work through the tutorial for gIINT lab testing. The zip folder I downloaded does not appear to have the required Excel file. The included file is named corresp_file_test_data.xls. According to the tutorial, the file should be training_lab_test_data.xls. Can someone help?
Also, I was tasked to supply grain size distributions in gINT format. Can someone clarify what that format is? Does this imply a particular data structure in Excel that allows for the data to be imported into gINT?
Can I generate sieve lab reports based on surface grab samples that are not associated with any borings?
Thanks in advance,
Anthony
Hi Anthony,
I posted the file here.
I suspect when they say gINT format they are either asking for the grainsize report that comes from one of the standard file sets (IE gINT STD US LAB) or they want the gINT project file (.gpj) which has the data. If they need it in another form the data entered in a gINT project .gpj file can be exported to a variety of formats (IE EXCEL)with the exact same structure as the gINT sieve tables.
for entering sieve not related to borehole, You do need to enter a pointID in the point table (borehole) and a total depth, but it does not need to be a borehole. For example I could enter a point called GRAB and then fill out the grainsize data table.
e-mail me if you would like to look at this in more detail
