Hi,
Is it possible to allow duplicate depths in the lab specimen table in gint std a4 astm lab file?
Thanks
Nisha,
Lab Specimen Table is a "Parent" table of all Lab Testing tables. Each test is identified by a unique PointID and Depth combination. By default the design of this table does not allow duplicate depths.
Thank you for the response, but I would like to know if it is possible to change the table design to allow duplicate depths.. ?
No, the design of this table has the duplicate depth option greyed out.
Hi Nisha,
Here's a way you can do it.
You need to make these changes in Data Design with an empty Project File or a Data Template. The changes can not be made to a Project File containing data - the "Allow duplicate Depth values..." option will be grayed out.
First you need to add a field to the Lab Specimen table that will later become an Additional Key Field. This field is used to uniquely identify records with duplicate depths. In the example below I called it "Subsample". Click Save.
Then check the "Allow duplicate Depth values..." option.
Then you need to open the Lab Specimen table properties and specify the Additional Key Field, as done with the Subsample field below.
It's important you do the steps in the order listed above.
