Hi
I cannot find anywhere how to do to produce an AGS4 file by using coding in gINT rules. It's relatively easy for text files or excel files for example, but a proper AGS4 file??? gINT is able to produce them so there should be a way...
Has anybody got an idea?
Thank you
Hi Jerome,
You can produce an AGS4 file from gINT Rules by executing a gINT Script.
For more info, see the RunScript method in the gINT Rules Manual, as well as Help>Contents>Scripts within gINT.
You can also check out the gINT Special Interest Group recording from June 2019, available on the Bentley LEARNServer:

Here's an example of a gINT Script for AGS4 Export:
**Operation Input **Command ExportText **Properties Project=C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT\PROJECTS\gint std ags 4_0.gpj **Spec DataFile=C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT\DATATMPL\ScriptExportAGS.ags CorrespondenceFile=C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT\DATATMPL\gint std ags 4 to ags 4.gcx
Hi Jesse
my apologies, it works very well! But I'm not sorted.
Actually my challenge is to be able to filter which locations to include in the AGS file...
I've tried "Range=", "PointIDList=", none worked.
Any idea?
Jerome
"PointIDList=" should work. Make sure to put it in the **Spec section:
**Operation Input **Command ExportText **Properties Project=C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT\PROJECTS\gint std ags 4_0.gpj **Spec DataFile=C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT\DATATMPL\ScriptExportAGS.ags CorrespondenceFile=C:\Users\Public\Documents\Bentley\gINT\DATATMPL\gint std ags 4 to ags 4.gcx PointIDList=DP1,UK Log

Jesse,
it doesn't work from my side unfortunately:
Executing ExportText: .ERROR: DataIOExport.ExportData gINTApplication-defined or object-defined error
in your example "UK Log" is a location, right?
Yes, UK Log is a location. Hmm, I'm not sure what exactly would cause that error. Feel free to send me the gINT Script you are using, and preferably your GPJ/GLB as well, and I can take a look. jesse.greenwald@bentley.com.
What version of gINT are you using? (Help>About gINT)
My version is 10.00.00.50.
I send you the script, but it's pretty much like yours...
