Hello,
My geotech company just purchased the latest version of gINT professional, and I'd like to utilize the site maps feature but there are only a few file formats that it can import and I'm not sure what will actually work. I tried outputting a dxf from my GIS software, but gINT apparently only supports DXF 12 or older, so I can't get that to work. I even tried various file conversions, but can't figure out any way to utilize this feature with the file types it accepts.
If there were a way to go from google earth KMZ/KML to gint, I'd love that, since that's how my staff usually coordinates our field work and boring locations. Is there any readily available topographic data that gINT will import? Really just looking for anything as a basemap. We usually don't have CAD files of our site plans, because most of the time we're brought in at a very early stage of the project.
Hi Tom
gINT Site Maps takes DXF v12, ECW files, LandXML, and GDW (gINT Drawing files).
You can open shape files in gINT Civil Tools, and export to a DXF v12 file for use in gINT Site Maps.
gINT Civil Tools is stronger for map production, I suggest you explore that.

Get the most out of gINT with Datgel Tools.
for importing site maps/ imagery i find .ECW format works best. ecw is a georeferenced raster format. Online government GIS portals might allow you to export imagery in this format, or use free GIS software like qGIS to generate it, otherwise you have to talk to a tame GIS tech.
