gINT civil tools

Is there a tool in ss10 comparable to the tool in the image below? This tool is just what I need. I have 90 borings that need to be put on profiles and cross sections in a short amount of time.

I can't seem to find a download of ss3 anymore or I would use that.

Thanks for any help.

  • Hi Kevin,

That was an add in that was for use with old civil products (IE Inroads). It was only available for SS2 and SS3 versions. It was deprecated quite awhile ago and replaced with a separate product. That product is a sister product to gINT called gINT civil tools and will work with a gINT Pro or above license. The entire product is also included as a ribbon (geotechnical) inside of OpenRoads. If you have OpenRoads it is already there. If you have a gINT license you can download the gINT Civil Tools that matches. If you have gINT professional you would download gINT Civil Tools Professional.

Here is a link to the gINT Civil Tools page that shows its capabilities and details about the product including download and license details.

Understanding What Lies Beneath gINT Civil Tools is a part of the gINT family. It has MicroStation at it's base. It does not, however, require any other Bentley application to be installed to use, including…

  • Hi Kirk,

I was able to find and use the gINT civil tools but I can't seem to find an easy way to show the soil borings on the design profile and design interval cross sections. I see that I can create the subsurface tin and visualize it on the sections but that's it.

Do you have any help or tutorials that would help me to be able to complete those tasks? With SS3 it was nice and easy. Now it doesn't seem so.

Thanks for any help you can give.

  • Hi Kevin,

If you want to e-mail me I can give you a call to show you the features available. They may not match what you did in the add-in. The 3dmodel tab ..sections are the features available in the tool. kirk.johnson@bentley.com
