Having trouble getting a gINT fence report to output graphics

Hello All,

I am having issues getting a specific gINT log to output hatching. When I output the boring logs in this specific gINT file the outline of the log appears with the N-Values and layer divisions but the hatching does not appear.

There is a different gINT file that I have been able to get to output what I want so I have been attempting to reference the two but I am new to gINT and likely am not looking at the right settings. If anyone has suggestions of what settings to check that would be greatly appreciated!

  • The Graphic column entity in the Fence report References the Table and field in the project file that contains the Graphic name.

My first suggestion is to look at the graphic column in the fence report to verify it is calling in the right table and field.

If it is not you have a few options. If the file works fine with one project and not the other you may want to make a copy of the fence report and then map the copy.

To make a copy goto Report Design.. Fences.. pick the fence report name. Then goto File Copy page .. give the new report a name  hit ok.

Then open the graphic column in report design in the new report and map it to the correct table and field

Good reference material on how to modify or design a fence.

How gINT Files work together as a file set.

gINT has three file types (a file set): the gINT project (.gpj), the gINT lIbrary (.glb) and the gINT data template (.gdt). Each of these files plays a crucial role in gINT's functioning. The following…

  • Thanks for the reply Kirk! I took a closer look and the working gINT file has a dedicated Graphic column, however the one that is not working does not have a graphic column and when I try to add a graphic field into it I get an error saying duplicated field name. Ideally I would like to reference either the FMSM Soil or MATL column to add the fill. Currently the fill type is mapped as Matl!<<FMSM SOIL.Graphic>> am I able to directly change it to Matl!<<FMSM SOIL.MATL>> or is there a specific mapping process?

  • Yes you can just change it or if your report is assigned the right datatemplate paste it in using the data tool. But many times the true field name or true table name can be captioned in input. Assuming that it the true table and field name it should work. To check the field name goto input right click on field .. Field properties check the Name box. Also make sure that field is looking up a graphic in the lookup of the field properties it will be graphic.

    Matl!<<Your Table Name.Your Field Name>>
