I have accidentally added a material when typing up a log. I can find the material in SYMBOL DESIGN under the drop down, but can't work out how to delete it?

Symbols are stored in the library file, assuming you have opened the file with full access(non Readonly), then goto symbol design. Pick the Symbol in the yellow drop down you want to delete .. then goto file .. delete current page.
