Create Legend using gINT Logs.

If you are using the  gint std us library there is already a graphic text document created called KEY TO SYMBOLS.  Outputting this report may provide what you are looking for.  Not sure if gINT logs is allowed to output graphic text documents though.

Just checked and logs does NOT seem to allow output of graphic text documents.  I may be wrong because the documentation I found is not all that clear so it would be worth a try. That being said there are several ways to create a legend sheet using only a boring log report, depending on what type of legend you are looking for. I will try to put together a summary of these techniques over the next few days. I do not know all the limitations of gINT logs so some of the techniques may not work for you. In the meantime, it would be helpful if you could elaborate on what you are looking for in a legend sheet. Specifically:

1. Do you want to show soil/rock symbols and their names?

2. Do you want to show well symbols and their names?

3. Do you want to show sampler symbols and their names?

4. Do you want a fixed legend or a variable legend. A fixed legend shows all available symbols regardless of if they were used in the project or not. A fixed legend will print the same each time you output it. A fixed legend is much easier to develop but will include lots of information that is not relevant to the project. A variable legend shows only the symbols that were used in the current project or log and will be different each time you output it. I am not sure how a log report will handle a variable legend so will have to play around with it a bit.

5. Do you want to include definitions of terms and abbreviations?

I want a Legend that will show Soil/rock symbols, sampler symbol as well as well symbols and the descriptions for each of the symbols. I am trying to create a variable legend. However, all the examples I have seen use the Graphic Text Doc tab to do so. Which is not available in gINT Logs.
