For my logs, I click on the word *description* and when the window comes up go to Boundary Text. That's where I change the Text Below Last Line

I would change "<<RoundTo(<<stuff>>,0.1)>>" to just "<<stuff>>" to get rid of the rounding. Make sure you get rid of the ",0.1)>>" as well as the "<<RoundTo("

I see what your saying about text expression, BUT when I try it still doesn't work. tried a couple of ways now. I pretty sure this is the right box because in boundary text it says termination.

Watch I'm going to figure all this out and my boss is going to switch us to Bentley open ground right after. lol

Good news after much guess and check, I was able to get SPT to stop rounding. not sure even how it worked TBH but happy it did.

I still not have much luck with stopping termination TD from rounding. BUT it looks like there are some new info from kind people on my post so ill see what I can try next. thank you everyone :)

Line 20 in the usersystem data screen shot for penetration sets the format on the penetration. It is currently set to 0.0 so it should be reporting 1 decimal place (ie 5.2 on your example) It is not, so your log form is either not using this user system variable or it is being further formatted at the log level. As others have explained, you need to go into report design for the log in question, find the entity that is reporting the spt, double click on the entity to open the properties, in the main tab will be a property for data expression. that expression is the first place to start but note that you may have to change it in more than one place

The user system data for the end note just generates the text portion of the note. The number and format is generated at the log report level. Again, go into report design, double click on the column that has the end note to open the entity properties. The end note is in the boundary line text tab. Don't have gint available to me right now so can't tell you the property name but it should be fairly obvious.

Go to Output and pick the Log you want, then (on the same row of buttons as Input and Output) click Report Design and it should take you to the same Log. If it's a Graph or other kind of report then you'll have to click the Graph tab or such. If you don't see Report Design as an option then either you have gINT Logs but not gINT Professional or the person doing your job before you locked everyone out of the design tabs to keep them from breaking stuff. Check back if that is so. If you get to Report Design then you should see something like this:

Use some of the zoom options (lower right of screen in my picture, may be different on yours) to get in closer on the blips in the column which you are interested in. Like so:

Double click on the one you want and you should see this window:

You are interested in Text Expression. You can (but don't have to) click on the three dot button to the right of Text Expression to get more room to work:

This is where your log formatting happens. I don't know what will happen if you remove the format statement altogether, but make a note if you do because the problem that may or may not cause can hit you next year and slip your mind about what caused it.

It's a good idea to make a copy of the report under a new name and test your edits there. I think you already did that but I can't tell for sure.

Jaremy, another thought is what do you have entered for the hole depth in your point/boring table in Inpu?The basic termination note on the log might just be reading that field, and if you have 25.3 entered there, it is not a rounding issue, but rather displaying the actual value. Change that to 25.32 and that is what will show. If you do indeed have 25.32 entered but 25.3 shows, then you will need to apply the format command Allen described for two decimal places.

Hi Jaremy, I noticed that you are trying to "round" the two SPT blow count values in the SPT column. I think those are technically correct as shown, they are not "depths", but rather blows per six inch intervals. You are not showing penetration, so I can't confirm this, but the first value at 50 was probably for a full 6-inch penetration interval, therefore it doesn't show 50/6" as that is implied. The second at 50/5" appears to have a penetration of only 5" for the sampler, and since that is less than the standard 6-inch interval it displays the blows per actual penetration (5 inches in this case, or 50/5" i.e. 50 blows for 5 inches). As Allan replied below, check the report design for the termination expression and apply the format function there for that depth.

Hi Jaremy. These two data items should be under your log report under the REPORT DESIGN application. The last two screen shots you posted are from the DATA DESIGN application under User System Data.

Once you find the correct log, you can check the expression. For formatting numbers, the correct function to use is <<Format()>>.

Example: Say your hole depth is 25.6, the following expressions will round accordingly:

<<Format(<<HoleDepth>>,0.00)>> will output 25.60

<<Format(<<HoleDepth>>,0.0)>> will output 25.6

<<Format(<<HoleDepth>>,0)>> will output 26
