  • You did not elaborate on what you are trying to accomplish so I cannot offer any alternate method suggestions. Not sure why you need to export empty tables. Here are 2 things that might, or might not, help you.

Clicking the "export data structure only" property in the export window will export all tables and field names regardless of whether they have data, however it will not export any data, all excel sheets will have field names in the first row but will otherwise be empty. You could do two exports, one of all tables that have data (using the all tables option) and one that has only the data structure.  Then simply, copy the tables without any data into the sheet with data or vis-versa. If you are doing this repeatedly write a vba macro to do the copying. You could also use excel's data consolidate feature to combine the sheets.

You could create a gINT project that contains only one boring named "Dummy" and a single entry in each table. Then import this project into your actual project using the import database command.  This will add the "Dummy" boring to your project and ensure that each and every table has at least one record.  Then export your project to excel with the "all tables" option checked.  All tables will export since all will have at least one record. In your final excel workbook, delete the records for the "Dummy" boring, there should be one in each sheet. When done you can delete the "Dummy" boring from the point table in gINT which will also delete all the associated records in the other tables since they are children of the point table.

There may be other ways to do this.

  • Thanks, how to export everything including tables without data?

  • My understanding is that you are exporting to excel using the import export menu in the input tab.  If you select to export all tables all groups and all hidden tables should export to excel but they will no longer be grouped.  The exception is that tables without data will not export. If others have a different understanding, please chime in.

There are other methods to export to excel that may achieve your objective if you wish to elaborate on what you are trying to do.

  • sorry I didn't realise it was the wrong post, please kindly forward to the correct department,  thanks.  I am using version 10.03.00.09 (gINT Professional).

  • Miranda, you appear to be asking about gINT, so I have moved your post to the gINT Forum where someone can assist. Please confirm and provide your version number.
