How to fix the Atterberg symbol to appear in the right spot. Also, why does my company logo only show up for Geotech BH Columns and not the other report forms?

For some reason, the Atterberg wording is always outside of the box if it is not on page 1. Page 1 will be correct and look fine. If it is on page 2, 3 etc it will always appear underneath as shown. My other question is why my company logo isn't appearing on the other log forms, such as the environmental or general wells one. It will only appear on the Geotech BH columns log. I don't have much knowledge with designing the reports in gINT so any help would be appreciated.

  • It is difficult to determine the problem without details on the entity that is generating the text.  However, I am going to make a series of guesses on what library and log template you are having problems with and suggest a possible solution.  Any of these guesses could be wrong and invalidate the solution.

    1. I am guessing that you are using the gINT US std library or a very close derivative of it

    2. I am guessing that the log template you are having problems with has a different body height for the second and subsequent pages (ie the second page eliminates some of the header info and increases the amount of graphic log shown on the page). You can check this by opening the log in the report design tab and selecting F8 to display the page properties. In the report structure tab of the page properties dialog check the body height for the first and second page. they will likley be different as in the example below. Body height for page 1 is 7 inches and body height for page 2 is 8 inches

    3. I am guessing your Atterburg label is set up as separate text entity as it spans across 3 columns.  You can see this in the example above because the atterburg label text has a square box showing the entity anchor point.

    4. If you double click on the entity anchor point for the atterburg label text, it will open the text properties dialog for that entity.  See the picture below

    5. I am guessing that the follows report body property in the main tab of the text entity dialog is NOT checked (pointed out with red asterisk in the picture above).  It should be checked so that the text shifts up when the body gets 1 inch larger on the second page.  If it is not checked the text will print in the same spot as it did on the first page which places it in the actual report body, not where you want it.

Again, I have made a lot of guesses here, any of them could be wrong. It is helpful if you indicate what library you are using and post screen shots of the report design that is generating the problem and screen shots of the entity properties dialog from the entity that you are having problems with.

If these guesses are wrong, please clarify your request and post screen shots of the relevant entity properties dialogs.
