Popup that says updates

When I am loading gint and get a popup that says something like “the master library has been updated, do you want to update it now” (see attached) , if I click "yes" , it replaces the library that  I am using with some standard templates. Is there a way to update the library without loosing all my previous(created) templates?  Is there a way to stop receiving this popup too ?

  • Nivya, this is because most likely you have added a master library path to the gINT system properties under File menu.  We ideally suggest keeping this path empty in the system properties unless it has been mandated by any organization to use the master library set on a specific folder/path.

Hello, I am new to gINT V8i Professional and Geopak V8i SS2. Regarding specifying the library file in the system properties; I see in the help that the Master Library is managed by administration but…

  • Does this problems will be solved by locking the gINT library or I must keep the master library empty ?

  • Locking the library will not give you any option to change the templates or library data.  If you lock it yourself, then you will be able to do that. but if you use the library that is pre-locked you will not be able to.

We suggest its better to keep the master library empty.

  • I locked one library so that only I can edit the library ,not others. But if others use my library(locked) and when they encounter an updated library pop-up and then they click yes to that, it wouldn't re-write the locked library right ?

  • Well, it will be better if you keep the library on your network and have your users grab from there rather than populating the master library path.  We have seen a few errors that lock gINT with master library file path saved.  In that event the users will have to reset the setup.gsh and remove the master file from the system properties.
