Can anyone point me in the direction of any technical support for the 'Point orientation support' option in gINT professional plus v8i ?
This web page: http://docs.bentley.com/en/gINT/What_is_New_in_Version_v8i/What_is_new_in_Version_v8i_-_Input.htm breifly explains what it is for but I want to know what I can do with the data in this table. I can't find anything else on the internet nor in gINT help.
Can I automatically calculate the east, north and level of a test or sample expressed as a length along the borehole ? If so, how ?
Thanks
Steve
Steve,
The "Point Orientation" topic in the current gINT Help file discusses the "Point Orientation Support" option.
It goes into some detail about deviated boreholes.
Steve, If you have turned on Point Orientation Support in the Additional Modules, you have a table in your database to record orientation data.
The ElevFromDepth, EastAtDepth and NorthAtDepth functions will appropriately deal with the presence or absence of this orientation data. Depth is always distance along the hole, and is not affected by the hole's orientation or deviation from vertical.
