I just got the new version loaded, 8.30.03.77, and I'm missing the data design, report design, and symbol design application groups. I also tried to create/add a field in the lithology table and got the error message; Invalid procedure call or argument.
Does anyone know the problem? Was something missed in the installation?
Thanks,
Ken
Hello Ken,
We've been getting this question often with this new release. Pat wrote an FAQ on this and how to change it: communities.bentley.com/.../how-toturn-on-design-tabs-in-gint-v8i.aspx.
With the Design Applications hidden, the option to add a new field should not be there and that is causing the error. Once you unhide the tabs you will be able to add a new field. Thank you for reporting this. I'll pass it on to the Developers so we can fix it.

Kathleen Holcomb
Works great! Have a good weekend. Thanks!
Thanks! You too!
Rosenda, please try this again: in gINT, select the File menu System Properties option, go to the General tab in the System Properties dialog, and verify that the Hide Design Features checkbox is not checked. If it is checked, uncheck it again, and be sure to click the OK button at the bottom of the System Properties dialog. Then exit gINT normally, and relaunch it.
When gINT is open again, verify that the System Properties/General Hide Design Features checkbox is still unchecked. If it is checked again, it is possible that you do not have permission to save this change. That would be a local setting on your computer or a network setting at your site, which just happens to impact the gINT installed settings file.
I've been asked this question about 50 times in the past 6 months. Bentley needs to display a warning message when each user account first opens gINT v8i Ss1 on a PC.
