discrete graphis exporting to dxf, dgn

have 2 machines running 8.30.03.135 on XP that when exporting to dxf and dgn overwhelm fence diagrams (obliterate all other information).  Another machine running same gINT version on Win 7 exports them correctly to dxf but drops them exporting to dgn.

Where can I find propeties to control the behaviour? Is there something in the dgn seed file? different seed files are being used on the different operating systems.

Thanks

  • I have noticed the same behavior you noted first, in which the background white fill "blows out" the graphic detail of the fenceposts when the Microstation background color is black and fence entities are printed in white. If that is the setup you are using, you can either turn off the background fill color in the fence report graphic column entity, or set the Microstation colors to White background and black drawing detail - that will correct the problem in the XP system.

There is a 2D DGN seed file installed with gINT - if you are using a different seed file, try using the one provided with gINT for your units.

If the problem is occuring on the Win7 system using the gINT-provided seed file, please contact Bentley Technical Support.

  • Are the discrete graphics coming out very very large when exported to DGN?  There is a bug in 8.30.03.135 that affects discrete graphics in DGNs but DXFs should work correctly.  If this is what you are experiencing Tech Support can give you a link to a newer build where this is fixed.  Please get in touch with us by creating a service ticket: appsnet.bentley.com/.../addcall.aspx.
