I have created a new section template in Template Studio and want to use it in my current project in Professional but after saving the template to the configuration pack it's not showing as an option to use in professional, do I need to import the template into the project from the configuration pack somehow?

Thanks for asking this. it may be that the project is based off another configuration pack. If you select the project, edit project details and check the pack it may be different to the one you saved the template in. If this is the case you can save the template as a local file and then import to the other configuration pack.
