My company mainly does Window(less) sampling, dynamic probing, trial pit logging and Mackintosh probing to establish soil strength. I've had few issues with logging WS, WLS, DP and TPs, but I can't work out any way of logging Mackintosh probes. There is a calculation required to make corrections so this adds a layer of complication to the matter. We use the Mac probes a lot, so any help would be appreciated.
Hi Ayrton, Thanks for asking about this. Is it a SPT or DCP test?

Hi Martyn. The test involves using a series of rods and a hand operated hammer with a specific mass and drop height. The number of blows to penetrate increments of 50mm is measured. The 'N' value is then derived by finding the sum of the blows to progress six increments of 50mm, then this is divided by 11.4. So any way of inputting these values into the data collector would need to have this calculation in order to produce the 'N' value. Hope this makes sense.
Hi Ayrton, sorry i didnt see this but have replied to the SR with the solution.
Hi Martyn, How about posting the solution here as well, so that the rest of us can learn from it.
Thanks,
Brian
Hi Brian, I think it was just the calculation:
(blows1 + blows2 + blows3 + blows4 + blows5 + blows6) / 11.4
