I have two angled boreholes at 70 degrees, one with a orientation of 270 and the other 90. I have added the information into the Orientation & Inclination tab, this data appiars in the BH log as numbers, but it doesn't change the angle of the stick logs in the cross-section viewer and the the reduced level maod for the geological horizons are just the downhole depths minus the ground level, not the true vertical level.
Unfortunately the tunnel design is by others. I can imagine they would be reluctant to amend the tunnel alignment just because Openground & Civil 3D cant handle it! Its another disappointing "issue" im coming up against.
If the alignment is a curved line it won’t work.
we had to break our alignment into short straight segments to get it to project properly.
HI Devin, i appear to have the same issue. An inclined/angled borehole is plotting as vertical in Civil 3D where the alignment element is a curve. Other inclined holes which are projected onto linear alignment elements plot correctly
Martyn, any update to angled/inclined holes on Openground quick section? Its been a year now.....We undertake lots of inclined investigation to investigate / treat former mine workings. Pleased I still have access to good old gINT which can do everything!
Not sure if we had the same problem as you, but we found that the Civil3D extension fails to project angled borings on a curved alignment. This may be an edge case since our alignment is 270 degrees of a circle, but it was showing angled borings backwards.
Our solution was to break the alignment into many short straight sections. Not an ideal solution, but it worked for us.
