I am modeling a site with the Civil 3D extension. The borings were logged with layers based on USCS. A legend code was then assigned to each of the USCS layers and then a geology code was assigned to each of the layers. In most cases, except for Fill / Made Ground and Rock, the Legend Code is the same as the USCS. However, the geology codes are not, and usually encompass several layers. Is there a way to merge layers with the same GEOLOGY code to clean up the plan strips? In the example shown below, I would like to combine the top fill layers into one fill layer. Similarly, I would like to combine the bottom two BBC layers into one layer. Is this this possible?
Hi Timothy, I think if you edit the strip in Template Studio and select the cell for Graphic you can then look at the properties for a "Merge" tick option. This should do what you need.

Hi Martyn. I have tried that, but with no success. The "Merge" function seems to allow the graphic/hatch to merge, which is a start. But the depth and description to the left and right (Point Data Text) do not have a similar Merge option. I wonder if there a simple expression that could be created to look at the geology code and only display the base depth and description if the subsequent geology code is different.
