How to Import a Civils Extension Template

The scope of this article is to give a user a starting point in creating log strips for use in the Extension. To enable this, we have create some templates that can be copied and updated within Template Studio.

There are two parts to a Civil 3D Section Template, these are the Civil 3D Section template and the Civil 3D Strip template. The Civil 3D section template contains the template definition as well as allowing for the choice of strip to use. In the below templates, we recommend that the blank template is used to load the strips into the application.

To import these templates the following process will need to be followed.

    1. Load Template Studio and login.
    2. Open a project.
    3. Select the Load option.
    4. Browse through to the required file and select open.
    5. Select OK to close the Depth Columns dialogue.
    6. Browse through to Design - Save from the ribbon.
    7. Select Configuration Pack from the options and select Save.
    8. Browse through to System - Templates from the ribbon.
    9. Select the Load option.
    10. Browse through to the Blank Section file and select open.
    11. Browse through to Design - Section Options from the ribbon.
    12. Select the new template from the list.
    13. Browse through to Design - Save from the ribbon.
    14. Select System from the options and select Save.

The Blank Section file template will then be available within the Style Manager within the Civil 3D Extension interface.
