Are there any example Default Value Expressions for Data Entry?

    Question

Are there any example Data Entry Default Value Expressions?

    Answer

This page contains a number of example expressions to specify default values for Data Entry. If you require an expression that is not included on this page then please contact support or add a comment to the bottom of this page and we will advise you if the expression is possible and add it to this page.

    Explanation

    • 'RJC' Default text can be added by enclosing it in single quotes
    • 100 Default values can be added by just typing the number (no need to enclose in quotes)
    • count() + 1 Make the number equal to the number of rows in the grid. Ideal for sample reference
    • [LocationDetails.FinalDepth] Make the number equal to the final depth of the location
    • if(count()=0,0,max('DepthBase')) If this is the first row then set to zero, else set to the maximum value of DepthBase. Used for geology top values.
    • if(count()=0,0,max('DepthTop') + 0.1) if this is the first row then set to zero, else set to the maximum value plus 0.1. Used for depths for dynamic blows.
