How do I show points/symbols on a scatter graph annotated with text?

    Answer

In many cases this could be achieved by creating a border-less bar chart with a label in the same column as the scatter graph.  Note that this will only be possible where the scale for the bar chart can be set to be consistent with the scatter graph.

    Explanation

    1. Create a bar chart in the same depth related column using the same data the scatter graph.  The scale settings for 'Increment' and 'Count' should be the same as the scatter.

    2. Adjust the 'Label' settings to display the text required.  Revise the 'Styles' settings and the Inside/Outside settings as appropriate.

    3. Revise the 'Appearance' to hide the bar element from the output.
