A number of users have asked how to setup a graphical column within their templates that can show the coverage of their sample items over the depth of their holes. The following article will explain how to do this and how this can then be used in further examples.
Rather than produce a text box with the sample type contained within, we will use a bar chart to produce a similar kind of output but with more flexibility.
First of all import the bar chart into the cell where the data will be shown and then enter the data as follows;
The expression reads;
numberordefault(1,1)
On the appearance tab, select Style, then select the Background tab and select the colour black.
Set the other tabs as follows;
If you were then to preview the log, you would end up with something looking like the following where the black bar on the left shows the range of sample information;
As the above is unsightly, we could then adjust the transparency of the bar. To do this go back into the bar chart, select the appearance tab, then Style, then select the background tab. You will then need to adjust the slider for Opacity with 0 being no background colour and 255 being fully opaque. The colour can also be changed.
We can then also include a label to show what each bar means. To do this go back into the bar chart, select the Labels tab and select Add. Enter the values as follows;
When a preview is then produced, an output similar to the below can be produced which shows how each sample spans the depth of the location;
