    Examples and Use Cases

The following examples have been put together to help try and give some context to the expressions in the other articles.

Simple Copy fields from Source to Destination

    Do this or that examples

The following will copy the field if it is a value or use the replace command to get rid of the "%" sign.

The following will copy numeric values to one field and text fields to a different field.

    Running Expressions while copying Fields

The following will join the date and time values from the source file into a single field in OpenGround

    Adding Constants to Rows

The following will add a consistent record to every row that matches the row entry.

    Using Row Condition

    • Condition = "" XXX -You can use any OpenGround expression here, as long as that expression returns a true or false value.
    • merge="true" –If true, this forces the reuse of an existing row which has matching key fields. If this unspecified or false, a new row will be created.
    • merge-only="true" – this ONLY allows you to add data to an existing record. Must have merge="true" to be included for it to work.

Mapping one input table to more than one OpenGround table

The following example shows you have you include more than one output tag for each input group.
